I made this card for mums 70th birthday. wanted something a bit different. I stamped a messy rabbit image on shrink plastic, coloured it with Sakura stardust pens, made a hole in the top and cooked it with my heat gun. I then attached it to a key ring mechanism and attached it to the card.

No picture yet - just added them now

Have been busy recently having celebrated our Silver Wedding and last weekend was mum and dads Golden Wedding. Made them a lovely card but can't put the pics in yet as it is along similar lines to the card I have made for Joanna Sheens Newsletter, Ready Steady Craft. As soon as this is sent out, I will put in the pics of mum and dads card.

Happy Bearthday

Wow, I can't believe its been over a month since I last posted. All those good intentions! Ah well never mind, here I am again. As I organise the Sheenies birthday lists, I decided to get myself organised and made some birthday cards in advance. The middle section actually holds a seperate ATC for a keepsake. Gradually using up some of my vast card stock.

Card Makers Year Again!

How I love the images from this Joanna Sheen cd. Two more cards, again using the same topper, this time using a different backing sheet (from the cd) and red mirri silk and gold mirri silk, each topped off with an organza ribbon. Nice summery birthday cards.

My first Christmas Card

Having signed "Lavvy's christmas card pledge" on the Joanna Sheen Forum, I have today eventually made a start on my christmas cards, just the one so far. The topper and backing paper were from Joannas Enchanted Christmas cd, with a holly brad and gold glitter board.

One picture three colour schemes

Yet another image from Joanna Sheens Cardmakers Year. I used the same topper but different backing papers, this image is so versatile. I cut off half of the front of the card and mounted the topper onto mirri card so that it is used as the opener,. Under the topper is a tag with Happy Birthday. Three little gemstones in matching colours finish off the card.

Golden Wedding Invites

I have been making these invites for Mum and Dads Golden Wedding Anniversary meal. The letters, heart and layering is gold mirri, doesn't show up too well on the scan and the photo is mum and dad on their wedding day. I have printed the inserts in gold also. The edging of the card has been done with a gold marvy metallics pen.

Joanna Sheen Forum Challenge

Sorry its been a long time since I have been on here. Life just has a tendancy to get very hectic every now and again. Sometimes my body lets me know I have been doing too much and I just have to have a bit of a quiet spell for a while. Anyway I AM BACK!!!!!

Not the best of scans, but hopefully you can see it ok. I used topper from JS Cardmakers Year cd and roses vellum with some pink pearlescent card put through a cuttlebug folder.

Monday 19 May 2008

Made this card today for dads birthday from mum. It's from the remember when series 1 from lapashe and I'm so pleased with the result. It is on a pearlescent card stock and matted and layered with gold mirri, with gold mirri down the inside left hand edge.

In the Garden

Have been playing with the 'inny' and 'outy' cutting templates bought at the Shepton Mallet Show recently and made this card for my father in law. It also fits in with Rainbow Ladys Challenge this week of in the garden.

On a bit of a roll tonight

I am trying to make some quick cards to donate to my sister in law to sell at a craft stall in aid of cancer research. It is also the walk for life event. The little girl is a Paper nation rubber stamp and the topper is from Red Hot Bed. I am hoping to make at least twenty cards for her to sell.

Pink & Black & Gold

A simple quick card for Rainbow Ladys Challenge blog, pink and black and one other colour. I chose gold and used gold mirri card as part of the topper. Really need to get back into crafting blog mode now.

Friday 25 April 2008

Well I just can't believe that I haven't managed to Blog for such a long time. Made these cards this morning, my niece wanted to send some thank you cards for her 21st birthday gifts received and asked me to make her some. I love this image, it s a paper nation stamp coloured with water colours. The background papers are all from a DCWV mini stack.
The letters are actually gold mirri card, they just don't show up so well in a scan.

Arte y Pico Award

Thank you so much to Rainbow Lady for giving me this award. I feel very proud, as I am very new to Blogging. There are some rules attached to this and before I pass it to my chosen 5 blogs, I would ask you to bear with me whilst I sort myself out. Here is a link to the Arte y Pico blog. http://arteypico.blogspot.com/

Bookmark Birthday Card

I made a second bookmark with the embossing using Sparkle n Sprinkle wisteria embossing powder from Joanna Sheen, a slightly different flowersoft coloured scarf and lilac gemstones instead of pearl finish stones. The back of the bookmark is finished in the same backing paper as the happy birthday strip and Nellies clothes.

Bookmark Challenge

I made this for the bookmark challenge set by Rainbow lady for her weekly challenge.

http://rainbowladyschallengeblog.blogspot.com/

I used pearlescent card, stamped and embossed a swirl pattern in the top right hand corner and embellished with a couple of self adhesive stones. The image is Sugar Nellie with a flowersoft scarf. All topped off with a very precious tassle!

Some more Easter Cards

Here are the two other Easter cards I have made. Both of the images and background papers are from Joanna Sheen's Cardmakers Year cd. The first one has had flowersoft added to the blossoms on the branches.

Easter Brads

I was asked to make three Easter cards this week. They are to be sent to adults rather than children, so rather than using cartoony type characters, I used images from Joanna Sheens Cardmakers Year. I attached the picture to the front of the cards using brads. Not a very experimental use of brads but effective none the less. The inside of the card is a pop up smaller picture and an embossed cross. The greeting is on a large piece of paper as the lady who ordered the card is visually impaired and needs a large space to sign her name.

Pocket challenge

This was my last minute entry to Rainbow Lady's challenge blog, this week the theme was pockets.

Gracies First Birthday

I made this card for my sister in law to give to her niece. I used a cuttlebug embossing folder for the bubbly background, a Moorehead decoupage and cut the silver mirri card letters on my Cricut machine. The G, A & E are all stuck to the card and the R & C are on foam pads so they stand slightly proud.

Black feather challenge

Today Rainbow Lady set a new weekly challenge, it was to use feathers. I made this card with a picture from Joanna Sheens Fashion boutique and matching backing paper and some lovely foiled green paper, which i received in a Sheenie Angel Envelope. I added a black feather to the lady's hat and some peel off corners. Quite a quick card to make.

Acetate challenge - mothers day card

I made this card for my mum and also for Rainbow Lady's acetate challenge. It is a prefoiled sheet of acetate, with an oval die cut, a Morehead little girl decoupage and I have put a lilac gemstone in the centre of the flowers. The letters for MUM were cut on my cricut machine using a lilac cricut pen first to outline them before cutting, I then attached them to the card with small silver brads. The inner oval of the die cut is used inside for the greeting. You can find out more about the acetate challenge on this site. http://rainbowladyschallengeblog.blogspot.com/

Today I made this mothers day card, the image is a faerie poppets die cut decoupage and the envelope template is one being sold online to raise money for the Spanish Samaritans.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

A card I made this week for friends who are due to move house soon. It is a Michelle Marsden clutter card, with a little doorkey brad.

A brand new blog day

I have decided to keep a crafting blog. I have so much fun taking parts in atc swaps and fat book page swaps, I am hoping to keep a record of these and some of the cards that I make on here. My name is Keren, I live in Cornwall, with my husband and 16 year old son. I was pensioned out of work due to ill health and shortly afterwards took up card making. My house was far too clean and I decided I needed a hobby. The house has been dusty ever since. Bear with me as I learn how to put my blog together and tomorrow I hope to post my first pictures.
